The annual Apprentice Skills Contest took centre stage at the 2019 PICAC Brunswick’s World Plumbing Day celebration on Friday, 8 March. World Plumbing Day, March 11, aims to spread awareness of the importance of plumbing and plumbers in protecting public health and improving amenity.

The PICAC day of celebration began at 6am with 11 plumbing and five sprinkler fitting apprentices competing for the chance to be named Best Apprentice Plumber/Sprinkler Fitter.

The hard-fought contest concluded at 2.30pm with an awards ceremony, where the finalists were announced and received their prizes. All finalists now have the opportunity to be selected to represent PICAC and Australia at the annual United Association’s International Apprentice Skills Contest in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA in August.
